ABOUT
I’m Martin “Tidgney” Grady, living in Southport but originally from Blackpool. I’ve always loved gaming, cars and creating things so the combination inevitably meant I ended up heading to Youtube!
A little bit about the name “Tidgney”. This was originally a nickname from school. I used to play a lot of football and play on the wing. As I was ginger people cheered on with Martidgney Riise in reference also to the winger at Liverpool John Arne Riise. This was because I was also small for my age at school as at 16 I was only 4’ 10” (1.47m). Tidgney was taken from that there after and I’ve used it ever since, even though I’m now 5’ 10” ( 1.78m).
Youtube started first with a guide for a non racing game, which actually took off really well! But it was GT Academy which really took things to the next level. In 2011 I achieved a world first on Gran Turismo and then became the fastest pad time trial in GT Academy 2011 qualifying for the National Final but didn’t qualifying for the European bootcamp. I continued my journey in 2012 by once again qualifying for the national final but due to some issues failed in 2012. I stepped it up several gears by qualifying for the European bootcamp in 2013. Unfortunately due to 2 mistakes I was knocked out in that bootcamp but I still got my first taste of racing. Youtube carried on with some race videos, creating unique content and continuing with the guides.
I’ve always loved racing and any opportunity I get to race a car I take it! My most recent effort was in 2017 with the Overclockers Championship. In the final we got no driver tuition and had to push to our limits, even being told “Some of the best driving they have ever seen”, this from an instructor who had been there for many years.
My journey accelerated with the arrival of GT Sport and esports. I managed to achieve so fantastic results throughout GT Sport and attended nearly every single live event which is a feat in itself. I tried to bring the community on the same journey where I could with vlogs from the live event. I am now focused more than ever on the community in helping. We’re now at a point where we have started the community team, TCR (Tidgney Community Racing / Trustworthy Clean Respectful).
The journey continues. TCR is here… TCR begins… TCR is NOW…
